A seaworthy 3.5-meter chocolate boat made by a French chocolate maker Georges Larnicol set sail in Concarneau port, western France, on September 25, 2010. The 1.2 ton boat, built in the Larnicol’s workshop, is entirely made of chocolate excepted the frame which is made of sugar. It survived a traditional farewell ceremony of breaking a champagne bottle of the bow. The boat seats two passengers and is both sail and motor-driven.
Georges Larnicol won a bet by successfully building a seaworthy boat from chocolate.
