  2. Bengie says:

This article has everything switched around. Porn doesn’t make sex addicts, sex addicts like viewing porn.

Sex addicts would still be around even without porn.

“56% of divorce cases involved one person having an obsessive interest in viewing pornography”

can also read like “56% of people who were divorced turned to pornography to escape their horrible marriage.”

But really, lets add a few of these claims up. 56% of divorces are caused by porn addicts. Porn addicts view 11+ hours of porn every week, most of that during their work shift. ~50% of the USA is married, the divorce rate is ~40%.

According to this, at least 10% of the population of the USA is addicted to porn. So, on average, every tenth person you see at work is addicted to porn. On top of that, 70% of their at least 11 hours of porno is viewed at work. So, every tenth person you see at work spends at least 1 hour every day at work watching porn.

Anyone else see this a bit high?

Viewing porn at work is typically grounds for termination. How the heck is at least 10% of the american work force viewing 1+ hours of porn every day?! Most people can’t even get away with more than a 30min lunch break without getting in trouble.

  3. Max says:

Stating that the porn industry turns over 13 billion dollars a year, right next to a declaration that “It is larger than the revenues of the top technology companies combined” is only the most glaringly, and instantly disprovable inaccuracy in the piece.
    Apple’s revenue for 2010 was $65.23 billion.
There are many difficulties associated with internet porn, and this info-graphic does little to illuminate, and much to obfuscate.

  4. Gagnom says:
